Internet Crime Jumps By A Third Last Year ...

CNN.Com is reporting that internet crime jumped by a third (33.3%) last year. Only by 33.3%? They must not have counted the scams involving 1952 Topps Mickey Mantles!

"...Americans filed 275,284 reports claiming to be ripped off on the Internet...The dollar loss has been on a steady increase since 2004, while the number of cases referred to law enforcement has decreased steadily since that same year.....Complaints to the center have resulted in several arrests..."

Maybe less people were falling for the 419 nigeria scams, and offset some of the newer scams?

My kid got a text message a week ago that he won some Canadian Lottery. Classic scam text came through
on his cell phone. And shortly after he even got a call from the scammers. Call came out of Connecticut,
did a reverse look up on it. Guess the scammers are really getting hard up for money. HAHA.

That call may not have come from Connecticut. They can spoof Caller ID.
