How will this Bust Half look in hand??

AnkurJAnkurJ Posts: 11,366 ✭✭✭✭
Just won it. Thoughts?

Bust Half

The price was fair. Heritage auction records have it selling between $230-$305.

    The lighting used manipulated how crusty the coin looked in the photo.

    It will be much brighter in hand.

    I agree with Will, not as "Crusty" as it looks in the auction pics, but probably a nice looking coin.

    Funny...

    My first thought was it's going to be much darker in hand, the photos are over exposed to lighten it up...

    Looks like a nice strike but from these photos it's hard to tell a grade...

    I like it and look forward to seeing it once in hand...

    I'll wager you will see close to this;

    I think you'll find it lighter in-hand. The white of the slab (which looks about right to me) tends to underdo the exposure on the coin. When you get the coin and want to shoot your own pictures you might try to cover the slab with a dark piece of paper that has a hole cut about the size of the coin - that should alow the sensor to set a more realistic exposure to the coin's surface color and will probably lighten up the color and add detail. Good looking coin!

    Regardless of whether it is darker or lighter it is still gorgeous. Congrats--should upgrade IMHO.

    It has got to look better in hand than that darker than dark image! I love the old holders and would keep it in there. Nice pick-up....Joeimage

    And by the way.........It looks much nicer than an au-50 any day of the week! Love the details on the hair, SUPER NICEimage
