I read an article that in Beverly Hills, Cal. pawn shops are seeing a large uptick in business since even "the rich" are under a cash crunch. They are hocking their possessions, including Rolexes, Bentley's, Ming Vases, Picassos, Jewlery, etc.

This got me to a wonderin whether any of these here high faluten folks with more money thans they has brains have hocked their gold coin collections of excessivly rare 18th and early 20th century US Gold.

So, if you know any good stories along these lines, let us know.

Well, I remember a certain board member got an 1893-S Morgan in a pile of silver dollars he bought at a pawn shop.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.
