TTM response after nearly 7 years?

I just saw this entry on www.sportscollectors.net:

Shaw, Billy
3/28/2009
2478 days
Meiselman list
1/1
Nicely signed GLAC with HOF insc. & sent a signed letter apologizing for long delay

It must be some sort of record! The longest wait I've had is around 2 years by Lou Creekmur - but nearly 7 years? Unreal. Billy Shaw NEVER signed TTM and all of the sudden there were 4 or 5 successes with this being the oldest.

Crazy.

My longest is about 5.5 years. I will occasionally read an article about someone getting something back after 15 years, when a player finds a box of mail in a garage.

I got Kelly Tripucka after 8 1/2 years. I got Mike Singletary after about four years. And in one odd time, I received two responses from 49ers player Michael Walter on the same day, one about two years old and the other about four years old. My guess is that he had not answered any fan mail for years and just finally got around to doing it.

I went to school at Mississippi State from 1995-1997. I would send my TTM requests at that time back to my home in Louisiana. My last year at MSU was 1997.

In spring of 2000, my mom called me to tell me I had a handwritten envelope in the mail. I went home the next weekend to retrieve it.

Inside was a 1995 Donruss Alan Trammell, autographed. Minimum 4 years turnaround time.
