Another BBCE Group Rip??

I've made a couple of purchases since I the last group rip I was in, so I'm jonesing for another. Is there any interest in another group rip?? I was thinking of 79/80 baseball and 80's football, but also considered a higher priced hockey and football. Some of the boxes I was interested in are listed below.... Now keep in mind, I'm assuming we can get the usual 10% discount and have figured that in below, but I would be willing to set this up and work it with Steve. If any of these numbers are wrong, I'll blame it on the Sam Adams!

79/80 Topps Hockey Wax $2340 $65/pk
76 Topps Football Cello $$1845 $76.87/pk

79 Topps Baseball Wax $324 $9/pk
80 Topps Basebal Wax $270 $7.50/pk
81 Topps Football Wax $360 $10/pk
84 Topps Football Wax $405 $11.25/pk
86 Topps Football Wax $378 $10.50/pk.

For a group rip to be effective for me, it has to be something worthwhile. A pack rip won't work for me unless the packs themselves are fairly valuable (e.g. 1986 Fleer Basketball). For the bottom 5 mentioned above (e.g. the 79 Topps Baseball Wax), I would be much more inclined to purchase an entire box.

i second the HOCKEY HOCKEY HOCKEY! But i would suggest 85 OPC instead. It's cheaper, easier for us to sell out, and has a better chance of making our money back. I'd be in for at least 4 packs.

That's funny. Ping has followers. Skillow, you need to let it go. You have not been grossly wronged or the like and are just starting to look like a winy baby.

The 85 OPC hockey sounds like fun, I'd even suggest 80/81 basketball.

Didn't sound like a whole lotta love for the 79/80 Topps Hockey! Not a huge fan, so I'm ok with doing the 85 OPC box instead. I will get ahold of BBCE tomorrow... not sure if Steve is back yet or not, and see what kind of a deal we can work out on the stuff that is listed. I'll post tomorrow so we can get everything started up!

    Thanks!

I might buy a pack or two of '85 Hockey...but the Topps '79 is all that I would really be interested in putting a lot of money into (7-12 packs). I don't agree with those people that say '85 is a better year to regain your money. Do not underestimate the '79 Topps... pack fresh cards are great for PSA submissions, there are a lot of people building this set and looking for PSA 8+ cards... common 9's can get about 25-50.00 on eBay depending on the player...I have seen some 10's sell between 75 and 100 (a few at 150.00)...and then there are the star cards and final year of Howe and Hull...and I have not even mentioned the obvious (Gretzky).

Don't be so afraid of the 65 price tag on the '79 Hockey guys image

When I get home tonight, I will start the list. We can try the 79 hockey as well. I mentioned that I wasn't sure if it would sell or not.

I would be interested in the baseball, probably the 79/80 Hockey and one (or all) of the football.
