Vacation hiatus

Is there any official way to let prospective buyers of your ebay Fixed Price material know that you will be away for an extended period of time?

I'd hate to have to delist everything and then put them all back up in 3 weeks.

Thanks!

Nick

    If you have a store.......

    Go to "manage store."

    Put you store "on vacation."

Make a sign in your header that says you are gone and when you will return.

If you have no store, cancel your listings or get somebody to manage them while you are away.

    thanks storm.

I have no store, so I might as well revise my listings and include a line in the description that says I'm going to be out of town.

Don't really think that's such a real good idea either.

An after-the-fact way to notify any buyers would be via an email auto-responer (tied to your email notification from eBay about a purchase) alerting them that you are away and will address their purchase immediately upon return. If you don't have an auto-responder option with your current email provider, there are many services that offer a free version and you can direct a copy of all mail received to go there to send the AR...and remove the AR when you get back. Just a thought.

Since few buyers read much of the info in a listing, your plan may be
an invite to a plate full of NEGs.

Or, maybe, I hope, you get lucky and your buyers will all be readers.

If you are simply trying to preserve your listing fees, the risk/reward is
    skewed against you.
