Taking pics from BBCE website to sell items?...

Just came across this because I am in the market for 76 sets. Looks like this seller took an image from BBCE's website to sell his own set. Why not just scan your own cards? Or at least give credit to where you stole the pic...

The properties on the "right click" actually say that it's from BBCE.

This is a complete scam and should be pulled. I'm sure that the key cards pictured in the stolen BBCE pic are in way better shape than the ones in the crusty Enor sheets. If those cards have indeed been in those sheets since 1981 they may be trashed. Pretty lame scam job by a supposed "good" ebay seller.

I've also had my auction pictures stolen and even my descriptions lifted verbatim...lots of lazy or unethical sellers out there..

I will be unable to forward additional pictures so bids will have to be based on the auction photos seen

    That is rich..

Whoa, sorry about the two blank replies. I'm a new guy here! It is against ebay policy to "borrow" a picture from someone elses listing.
A couple years ago I listed a BowFlex. When I was browsing the others listed on ebay, I came across an auction with a picture of MY BowFlex, which was taken in MY basement! That was weird.
Anyway, I contacted ebay & they removed the listing.
I hope to contribute more to the message board in the future!

This guy is definitely lazy and CHEAP too!

Check out a few of his feedbacks from others concerning his Packaging/Shipping practices!

I personally feel stealing images from other websites is totally unethical and in many cases is a scam.

The picture is hotlinked directly to Baseball Exchange's picture on their site. That means if BBEX changes the picture with that filename then the new picture will be displayed in the seller's listing. The possibilities are endless on what photo they choose to display in the seller's listing.

Is that a hot dog playing the drums? My favorite is still the cat with the lime helmet, but a hot dog that can bang the tubs would be a close second.

Friend of mine had someone hotlink to a photo from his site. So he changed it to a gay porn gif or something. Then he contacted Ebay and reported the guy have for having porn in his listing image

stealing photos/ or descriptions is illegal and the auction can be shut down. He needs to be reported.

What happens when a buyer gets his set and notices that the star cards are different than what is posted?

I remember there was a seller that had a pic of bbce's 52 Topps pack marked up about $800.00 with a buy it now. I guess if you bought his, he would buy it from Steve and have it shipped to you? Not sure how it worked.

the listing was ended, i contact him and this was his response prior to him ending the listing:

    "Hi-
The photo was a listing error that occured when I was researching prices. The auction has been cancelled and will be relisted soon with fresh photos. I can assure you that I am an HONEST long time eBay seller and would never intentionally "steal" photos or anything else.
    Tony
    Thanks!

That sure seems like a difficult "error" to make.
