Figured I might as well create my own box / pack rip thread. All the cool kids are doing it

1st up - 13 packs of 2009 SPX baseball - Supposed to be 4 GU and 1 auto per 18 pack box. 5 packs were missing so I grabbed the rest.

No ink - but got 5 GU

All the DiMaggio's are # to 425 - no idea how many are in that subset. looks like a set that might span the UD products this year though

the SPX not being enough, I ran down the street to see if the CD store got any more Heritage (they had 24 more packs for me). I was at the register and had paid for the Heritage cards when I noticed 1 pack of 08 Sweet Spot and 1 pack of Razor Letterman pack - first Razor product I've seen. Both of these were attached to the register. I said what the hell and grabbed them both.

no ink in the Sweet Spot but got a pretty cool patch card #13/25

next up - the Razor pack

The Razor pack comes 1 card to a pack, already in an UltraPro one-touch. Never heard of him but he's Yankees prospect

picked up 2 boxes of Heritage and a box of UD Spectrum this morning

just ripped the Spectrum and got my first buyback auto ever

back later for the Heritage

Nice Ortiz/Manny card, but couldn't they find a picture of Manny in his Dodgers gear? Takes away from the card in my opinion.

Strange Buyback, I was under the impression the Sp Chirography's were all auto'ed previously. Standard buybacks are typically bought raw and THEN auto'd, looks like Upper Deck just bought this back already 'graphed OR likely had a stack of those in their vault. Nice card either way.

I believe they were 2002 Topps Jumbos that had the following:

Vintage Buyback Cards(21000+) Every Topps HOF'er including original rookie cards! Some signed (HOF Autoproofs-1000+) Mantle/Jackie Robinson original cards (2 avail) HTA only!

pretty funny that that Seaver card is probably in nicer condition than any other card in my raw 73 set - aside from the OC

Maybe the signed buybacks were in HTA packs only, but I know the regular buybacks were in hobby packs too. I pulled an '89 Gary Carter Record Breaker buyback from a hobby pack.

1 box Spectrum
2 boxes 2009 Heritage

gonna open one of the SP Rookie boxes now - only 14 packs but supposed to be 2 autos per box - we'll see

first time I've opened any of these 07 cards

here's the best of box 1 - I like these. I had bought the 3 or 4 different Dice-K cards last year some time so I already had this one. I like how they use some of the older card designs. Didn't even realize there was also a base set with regular stars in them as well

The Spectrum

this is is kind of strange - The Thome printing plate is not the same picture as his regular card. There aren't any inserts in the set that would have a different picture of him. I don't get it

On my Heritage hunt today I stopped by this local discount department store that I hadn't been to in years. After walking around for a few minutes not seeing any cards, I asked at the desk if they had any. The guy pointed me over to one of the checkout lanes and on the top rack above the candy and gum were a few packs of this years and Topps and Upper Deck. That was all. The cashier in that lane then stopped me and said they also had some over in the toy clearance area. Over there, they had 5 of these. I grabbed all 5 without really looking to see what was in there but knowing it was all pure, unadulterated crap. Perfect!!
