    Hi Mike,

    I was curious also. I checked the cert number and it lists a grade of 5.

    Maybe the card is a 5, and the sig is a 9.

    YOU ARE RIGHT, i ORIGINALLY SENT IT TO PSA FOR CARD GRADING AND AUTO AUTHENTICATION AND IT CAME BACK A PSA EX5 AND PSA DNA CERTIFIED. WHEN I WENT TO THE PHILLY SHOW I SUBMITTED IT TO PSA DNA AND THEY SAID THEY WILL STRIP THE CARD GRADE AND JUST GRADE THE AUTO. THE AUTO CAME BACK A 9. THE EX-5 WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE DATA BASE IN A FEW DAYS. THE AUTO WAS SIGNED IN PEN BACK IN 1982 AND JOE SIGNED HIS WHOLE NAME OUT VERY NICELY. THE EX-5 WAS BECAUSE IT HAD A NICE DING IN THE UPPER RIGHT CORNER. TB

    For me not as cool anymore since I still don't get the hype of the number grade of the auto... but it sounds like you are very happy with the outcome - so I'm happy for you!
