Zep-ulenian-like couple of weeks at the local card shop...

Last Friday I stopped by the local watering hole and my dealer had '07 Sweet Spot Classics tins on clearance, so I snagged one. It yielded this:



While not the most desirable cut in the world, it's the case hit, so it was a nice surprise...and neat to have an autograph by the historic author of Roots & Malcolm X.

Fast-forward to today...

Stopped by for a few supplies...I always grab a couple of packs while I'm there just to feel like I'm helping the cause...I feel obligated for some reason.

The 2009 products weren't looking too hot, so I decided to try my hand at four packs of 2008 Bowman Chrome...

Pack number 3 yielded these beauties...



Also pulled a Pence refractor out of pack 4.

Thanks...haha, it's been empty for almost 20 years...I think he died in the early '90s.

It's a pretty sharp card Mathew...I was surprised to see it in the pack.

Just one scan Mike. I the Nunez blue and Price/Longoria xfractor were in the same pack...didn't scan the Pence.

Sounds like the same thing I do when I go to the mall. Theres a card store there and I always end up buying a couple packs of cards to help the cause. I collect very little new cards these days with the exception of the ginter or ufc boxes. I guess I feel its important to keep card shops in business even though most in my area are just trinket shops with cards collecting dust in display cases.
