Disappointing experiment with Sportflics

I bought some cheap boxes on ebay and wanted to submit them to see what uncirculated cards would get, figuring I would get a mix of 10s and 9s. Wrong!! Really suprising because the population reports showed good probability for getting high grades. I didn't painstakingly scrutinize the cards, but I didn't submit the obvious off-centered or dinged cards either.

You got hosed. It's not much money but it's messed up. I've submitted a lot of those from factory sets and I got 9's and 10's galore. I don't remember ever getting an 8.

I thought it was kind of strange as well.

Here are the other cards I threw in just for fun to round out the submission to 20 cards. They all graded much more fairly I thought. If anyone is interested I will take offers on them except for the Rizzuto, that will go into my PC and maybe the Wagner (that can be a place filler in my T206 set until I get a real one.)

Any card with a 3-D surface and paper back, you are at the mercy of the grader you get. A grader with more experience with 3-D cards will give higher grades. A less experienced grader, may see things that aren't there. Just my opinion of course.

sportflics packs are notorious for flattened corners...thus that is probably what caused you to get the 7s and 8s.
