Anyone know anything about "Player Issue" cards?

I got a TTM auto request back from a player a while back and he included my card, as well as a signed copy of his 2006 Bowman card with "Player Issue" on it. It's otherwise the same as the regular issue of this card. I assume these are just cards the company gives to him to do whatever he'd like, right? Anyone else have any of these?

I don't know but that sounds really cool. It would surely make that card more valuable if that's the case.

PSA/DNA encapsulated and certified it, but made no mention of the player issue on the flip.
