A 1950's Topps set about cars?

Any of you guys know anything about this? I was in a pawn shop today & they had 2 cards featuring old automobiles on them. I could tell they were Topps (said T.C.G. on back) and they were the larger size ('52 -'56) they were in pretty beat up shape. Any idea what this set is or how much the cards are worth?

Thanks in advance.

  • That's them! Thanks for the help - I see they're not worth a whole lot & the guy was asking $6 per card...think I'll pass. But again I do appreciate the help Dboneesq!

MMFB ... You are welcome. They come in Topps as well as OPC. I had a few unopened graded packs of each.

EDITED TO ADD: A complete set (160 cards) in VG/EX just sold on eBay for $315.00.

Probably not a bad idea to tell you a complete set of World on Wheels is actually 180 cards. The last 20 cards (161-180) were issued as a last series to the first series of 160 and are very difficult to find. A few popped up on ebay about a year ago and the high prices smoked a few more out, but the prices for these "high numbers" have held pretty steady, indicating a lot of collectors are taking this opportunity to complete their sets. $25-$50 per card is about average, depending on grade. Consequently, it appears that a 20 card high number set will cost as much or more than the complete 160 card low number set.

edited to correct spelling - some things never change....
