Need KM # for Japanese coin

I need the KM # for the following:

1 Mon
Japan
~1668
XF
Edo mint
Kan'ei Tsuho

I'm afraid I can't help you with this one but there are those here who can so I will ttt this one...

Pre-Meiji coins are not my specialty, but I do have the 1999 2d Ed. 17th Century volume.

C#1.2 is an undated Kanei Tsuho mon listed with issue dates of 1668-1700. Krause doesn't identify the mint, but I believe the sole character on the reverse does indicate Edo mintage. The other two Kanei Tsuho listed are said to be earlier.

If you want to post pictures of both sides, I can try to find your coin in the JNDA Catalog, and see what it has to say.

PS - is there an approximate value for that coin in XF condition?

Krause doesn't give any values for that one, but in my 10-year old edition the other Kanei Tsuho listed are all very common, values under #2.

The 2009 JNDA value for your coin would be about ¥800-1,000 (~$8.23-10.28).
