I did some research this winter and located an old fairgrounds which has been turned into a farm field. Called the Farmer yesterday and received permission to hunt his field. He also confirmed the location of the fairgrounds.
Here's a pic of the fairground circa 1899
Worked the field for about 1 1/2 hrs. Found alot of nails in one general area. Then finally got a nice
hit.
1903 Indian
Then about 100 yds away from my first find I signaled again and right on the surface still frozen
in dirt was a 1900 V nickel. In the pic is exactly how it was found.
Needless to say this site will be hunted hard as long as possible or atleast till the crops are
planted. Here's another pic from todays adventure.
