I wouldn't call myself a huge Pacers fan, nor a very big NBA fan for that matter, but I always check the scores to see how they're doing.
Obviously not well, about to miss the playoffs again. I haven't been real involved since the Reggie days when they were fun to watch. At least now their roster has guys who you can root for, not thugs like Stephen Jackson, Ron Artest, and Jamaal Tinsley.
Anyway, I think they've got to be setting a record for most games lost by 5 points or less. They seem to be in every game and find a way to blow it.
Is this my imagination, or do the Pacers actually lose more close games than any other team?

<< <i>Off the top of my head I couldn't name you a single player on the team. >>
You're not missing much.
I looked it up. The answer is 20.
The team is 28-42, 4 1/2 games out of the last playoff spot, and they have lost 20 games by 5 points or less.
That seems like an extraordinary amount of close losses.
