Here is a chance of a lifetime to purchase the nicest batch of hand selected 1985 Topps football cards you will ever see.
If anyone is interested I have about 55% of this set raw in Mint- Gem Mint condition ( Yes I mean PSA 9 and PSA 10). Now everyone says that have Mint condition cards, here is why mine really are.
#1 I collect the 1986 football set. I currently have the #1 set finished at a average grade of 9.67. Over 66 % of my set is PSA 10's
# 2 I am very knowledgeable in regards to PSA grading and how they grade cards. I am also the person who did weighting of the cards for the registery for the 1981-1986 sets back in 1993
# 3 I have sent in over 2,000 cards to PSA to be graded over the past 5 years with my average grade for my 80 football being 9.12
Here is why I have these cards. About a year ago I found a person who back in 87 opened alot( and I mean alot of 84 85 and 86 football rack and cello cases. He only pulled the RC's key cards from these cases like Elway, Marino, Moon, Rice and Young, all the other cards were put into 5,000 count boxes. He store these until I purchased them last year. I purchased these for the 1986 football only, However I figured I could not go wrong with the other years so I purchased them also. Here is what I bought.
95,000 1984 cards
16,000 1985 cards
18,000 1986 cards
26 5,000 count boxes ( I don't even want to tell you what the shipping cost )
I spent the next 8 month going through these cards 1 by 1 and pulled only the cards I thought would grade PSA 9 or PSA 10. All of these cards were put into top loaders reday to be sent in to PSA.
Of the 95,000 1984 football cards I only kept about 2,000 Mint cards
The 1985 out of the 16,000 cards I only kept 565 Mint cards approx 55% of the set and the rest were
doubles or triples.
And the 1986 football out of the 18,000 I kept around 1,000 cards ( several of these I have sent to PSA for my set and I have done very very well in regards to grades!!
All of these cards were looked at under a special light with a 10 X mag. and that is how I decided what cards I would keep.
You would have to purchase 32 1985 Topps football wax boxes or 5 1985 Topps football rack cases and take the time to search then to find this quality group of 1985 football cards.
