Mr. April -- torn labrum in hip?

that can't be good. Similar (same?) injury really hobbled Mike Lowell last year. Wonder how A-Roid will respond.

Has 12.5 mil ever been squandered away more in recent times?

Not an A-Rod fan, but really a tough break for him and the Yankees. I read where they expect him to be out for at least 4 months, whcih quickly tells me he isn't gonna play till maybe after the All Star game. So, who plays 3rd? I suspect if Tex doesn't get into an early groove, or if Posada reinjures the shoulder, it could well be a long season for the Bombers.

Seriously though...GL to A-Rod, the team and fans.

Al, I gotta disagree with you. Obviously I hope Arod is Ok as far as HEALTH goes but other than that? Screw him and the Yankees.

"The answer was in the Patriots eyes. Gone were the swagger and c0ck sure smirks, replaced by downcast eyes and heads in hands. For his poise and leadership Eli Manning was named the game's MVP. The 2007 Giants were never perfect nor meant to be. They were fighters, scrappers....now they could be called something else, World Champions."
  • 10 weeks minimum he will be out; and they cant rule out surgery/
  • According to espn.com he's getting surgery and out 6-9 weeks. Probably a cop out, a way to avoid the media circus, the A-ROID chants, and the first road trip of the year to Boston... My prediction? The Yankees have a better winning percentage in games Arod misses(barring other, more significant injuries) than they will after he returns.

He will be gone from at least late April to mid May. The media circus will start again as soon as he takes the field, I don't think this
is going to be an enjoyable year for A-Rod.

I am a Yankee fan, but I believe he deserves it after cheating the game, but we can do with out him for 9 weeks

Please, then everyone in MLB deserves injuries then-

I dont think you can do with out him for any length of time, big Tex will have minimal protection and hopefully will only have 6-9 HR's by the All-Star break ( Pretty sure he is on that list of 103 )
