I was curious as to how everyone was voting for the design of the new 09 eTopps baseball issue. I know Topps will release it soon but I'd like to get an idea ahead of time.

Design #1 ************OR**************Design #2

I personally voted for design #2

That is a very poor choice to use to vote on imo. You can't even read the player's name, lame.

Isn't that George Bush in the Yankees dugout??? I like design 2 but as already noted, why is the players name blocked out partially??? unless they are trying to get some sort of 3D effect

Personally I liked design 2 because it was cleaner. Design 1 has too much going on in the pic and the design is rather boring. It kind of reminded me of the early 80's topps issues. The name is covered, but honestly it doesn't really bother me since you should already know who the player is anyway. Also as with all eTopps cards there is a chromed out finish on them and I think the design of #2 would bring it out more.

Hell of a thing for you to say joey. All you collect is old worn out designs, aka Heritage. Remember?

What is an e-card? You cardboard guys collecting stuff that is not even tangible now?

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards.
Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.

No, they actually exist and are kept by Topps in house in uncirculated condition. They are available for delivery on request. The concept of them is to treat them like stocks essentially. Go to the eTopps website for a better explanation if you so desire, but that's the gist of it.

  • Bought $1000 worth of eTopps in 2001/02. Its worth $60.38 now. Yeah that worked out great...

How much is that $1000 of company stock or mutual fund that you bought at that time worth now?

I know it's not directly related, and etopps was a quick boom/bust, but compared to those that held some "sure fire" stocks, now it isn't quite as much of a failure.

I'm sure that everyone here bought low and sold high, so it isn't that much of a concern.
