Autograph Auction here at CU - FINISHED. thanks

OKAY WE'RE DONE

I have decided to put this large collection of autographed cards and photos for best offer by 9PM PST Sunday the 8th. Your highest bid wins, including shipping. Hopefully I will not be killing myself doing this. My loss is your gain.
I am adding running best bids when I have a chance to try to help keep it straight. You still might want to go through the thread, though, in case I am not around for a long time.

Perez-Steele Postcards (Many have GAI COA. They were all obtained from same person at same time, so I have no doubt about authenticity of all)

Lou Boudreau ($10), Don Drysdale ($15), Rick Ferrell (6), Charlie Gehringer (12), Whitey Ford (COA) (15), Duke Snider (COA) (17), Bob Lemon (7), Buck Leonard (12) Johnny Mize (9), Willie Stargell (17), Johnny Bench (COA) (15), Brooks Robinson (COA), (12) Don Drysdale (10), Robin Roberts (10)

Topps Giants (no COAs, but positive they're legit - I stand behind them with money back if you don't agree)
Brooks Robinson - I have 3 of these available right now and a few more in reserve. They are all in same blue sharpie. Look like they were knocked out one after another

  • I MEANT individually, just listing them all. Minimum is $5 for each (as stated) and if they sold that low, I'd have to kill myself. Thanks

Golden ... that's why I sent that message ... Looked like a couple of people were bidding on the entire lot!

And one suggestion ... make all bidders bid here in the forum ... if you allow PMs you are going to get some people complaining that you "lied" to them about bids that never were. Just a suggestion to save you a lot of grief.

  • (Full disclosure) Cut the Brooks Robinson signed 64 Topps Giants back to 3 for now. Going to hang onto a few of them for now

<< <i>yeah, i blew it on the 64 giants. too many at once to get any value for em. harumph. that's life... maybe i'll cut it off at the ones that are already bid on. is that too cheesy? >>

No, I don't think so. Count up how many bids there are on that card and limit it to that many cards.

  • I am offering 3 Brooks Robinson 64 Giants. They are all at $5 for now. Be sure to indicate if you are bidding on A B or C so we can keep it straight. Basically, they're all more or less the same and I'll pick out the best 3 of the 8 I have for the winners.

I don't think you need people to pick A, B or C. Just have them make their highest bid (you can use up to three bids for each person, this way you get the best price for each card).

Are you still allowing people to make bids in PM? I don't think that's a good idea. JMO

    Philip,
Thank you, my Perez-Steele postcards arrived today and they are beautiful.
But I got one extra. I recieved a Don Drysdale but I didn't win it.

    I won,
    Willie Stargell
    Buck Leonard
    Brooks Robinson
    Charles Gehringer

In the same top loader as the Gehringer there is a Drysdale, they're back to back.

Going through the posts it looks like milbroco won the Drysdale. If that's right milroco could PM me his address and I can send it on to him.
Thanks again, the cards look great.

Something I didn't notice until now, it looks like there were two Don Drysdales' and milbroco won both of them.

I'll PM both Philip and Milborco and get it straightened out.

I'm about to leave for a state bb tourney so won't be here much this weekend so if you don't hear from me don't worry I'll be back.
  • No, there was only one Drysdale that I know of. I think I just messed that up. Thanks for noticing and I hope you can send that Drysdale to him.

Man, this is nagging at me. Did I have 2 Drysdales and send them both out? Milborco? Did you receive yours?

  • DarinDarin Posts: 7,325 ✭✭✭✭✭
Milbroco PM'd me his address so I'm sending him the Drysdale.

Philip, it looks like you had two Drysdale's listed in your auction, and Milbroco won them both. So if you only had one you probably owe him a refund as he probably paid for both.
Just something you'll have to straigten out with him.
  • Yeah, looks like I double listed it and need to pay him some money back. thanks for being a big help!

The Boudreau and Lemon arrived in the mail today and both look great.
On a positive note, there was no Drysdale behind either one.

    Thanks again,
    Charles
