PSA Registry question.

Hi folks, I've been out of the PSA game for a few years now and planning to slowly jump back in. I have a PSA card of Karl Malone that I want to add into the set registry, but when I input the cert, it automatically creates a Karl Malone master set, but I don't want to create a player set, I want that card to show up in the set register (1992 Stadium Club Beam Team)...am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I believe you can not add a card to a player set unless you actually have a registry set for that player

No you don't need a player registry to add cards to a set registry, the player registry is probably just a default, you should be able to add the card to your inventory, then transfer it to the beam team set, if you don't have a beam team set going right now then add the set and do the same.
  • I think Vlad is right. You have to start a set first (it will be empty) then you add your card into it under your "edit set" function.

Thanks for the help. I will try what Vlad suggested.

Sorry guys, but it didn't seem to work. Again, I added the card and clicked on 'Add Sets' and the only set that is available for me to add is the 'Karl Malone Master Set'. It use to be so much easier before when I can just go to the set in the registry and add it from there. Anyone have any other ideas?
  • If the Malone card is listed in your inventory and the cert # matches the 1992-93 Beam Team, go to My Set Registry. When you click on "Add Set", it should give you a list of eligible sets based on the cert # of the card. The Beam Team set should appear with an option to "View Composition". If you click on View Composition, it should have a "Start Set" link in the middle of the page.
  • I believe the problem is that Karl goes nowhere unless Stockton gives the assist first image

LOL! You've got a point there. image

Seriously though, I emailed support and I think the reason is because my card is labeled 'BEAM TEAM - MEMBERS ONLY' and since it doesn't match 'BEAM TEAM', the system thinks it's a different set. Hopefully, they will get this straightened out.

members only beam team is a different set.
Its quite possible you have the members only version and therefore it does not qualify for the regular beam team set.
