any shot at a 10??

I cracked open a fresh box and pulled out quite a few cards that could 10--with zero pops. Does this example have a shot? There are no 10's..... The little white specs are dust on the scanner and not on the card itself.

    I think it's about a 9.

    Might have a chance at a 10, but I don't see it.

Maybe, but hard to know for sure.

    Likely 9s.

  • Just a question, not a criticism - - why? Is there someone that will buy this card as a 10? I pulled a few 80's raw that might grade a 10, but if it only sells for $10 to $20 bucks, there's not much upside after fees and postage costs.

for **its and giggles....quite few people are putting this set together in high grades. And to prove to myself that i can spot a 10. Out of a fresh box i only pulled 25 worthy cards i thought would 10. The box i opened was "hot". 3 Pucketts/2 Clemens---No Rose/No Ryan/No Mattingly

Based upon what I can see in the scan, it looks like the bottom right corner keeps the Bert out of a 10 holder and the bottom borders on the Johnsons keep them out of 10 holders. JMO. If you send them into PSa I wish you the best of luck!

  • I think you have 3 PSA 9 cards in those scans.

I agree, I don't think any of these will get better than 9's.

  • The Johnson's both have a fisheye in the same spot in the top right corner. Automatically makes them 9's.
  • why not open 50 more boxes
  • I agree -- All 9's at best..

Bert -- fish eye on right, and looks O/C
Johnsons -- too much chipping at bottom of the cards
