$400 in Halves searched just now

Got 2 40% Kennedies. That's all. Little buggers were hard to pick out, just looking at the edge.

I went through 500.00 a while ago and got the same results...just 2 40% and they were in the same roll. All of the other not much...total of about a roll and a half of bicentennials total though. Had a dickens of a time disposing them so won't do it again.

Correct, but good luck finding any 1970 in rolls.

I was going to ask, what's the best way to get rid of these? CoinStar takes 10%, or thereabouts.

I ended up taking a few rolls to another bank each time I went....they have a limit on the number of rolls you can bring in so it took a few trips. I didn't bring them back to the bank I got them from...I did not want them to not let me order them the next time (I had to put in an order and it took like a week for box to come in). The coins left over after I took the 2 out we spent at various places....a lot of people liked them and I suspect kept them 'cause they don't see them very often. Maybe even became new collectors image

I called the bank today and they had just got 2 $500 boxes in. Luck of the draw, I suppose.

The easiest way I have to get rid of them is to spend them. I have often spent 2-5 dollars worth at a time. No one has ever turned them down. Most people at least now what they are, can't say that about the new dollars.
  • I went through $450 last weekend, and found nothing. A couple rolls fell off my desk and broke the glass on a picture frame that was leaning on my desk waiting to be hung up. I went to the hardware store for a new piece of glass, and got a 1964 dime back in change.
