Two finishes for the 65 SMS coins

I was reading through the book "A Guide Book of Modern United States Proof Coin Sets" by David W. Lange and came across this. The 1965 SMS have two finishes. A semi-brilliant or satiny finish and a brilliant or proof-like finish. I thought this was really interesting.
I have a 65 SMS Kennedy with the satiny finish. It's graded by NGC and when I bought it I thought that NGC made a mistake and it was a regular '65 because it did not look like a SMS coin. After I saw this I realized that it was indeed a SMS with the satin type finish.
Is this the type of finish the '64 SMS coins have?
I drew arrows to the sections that mention the different finishes.

seem to fall mainly in the to categories. The same applies to
the '66 sets though by '67 most are like the old proofs.
