Diagnostics of a 22-plain lincoln cent???

I sent in to PCGS for grading what I thought was a 22-plain Lincoln Cent. It came back 22-D Weak D in VG8BN. I looked long and hard at it and did not see a "D". Is there some other diagnostics that is used to determine a no "D" or a weak "D"? Thanks!

Correct me if I'm wrong, one of the requirements is no trace of 'D' woth 10X magnification.
