Does anyone know of a good coin shop in the downtown NYC area? Thanks for your help.

It depends a bit on what you're looking for, but the rents are so expensive that there really aren't any good coin shops in Manhattan.

For a lot of people, even a visit to Stack's isn't that exciting.

FH coin exchange has mostly low grade type, and rarely 4-5 slabbed coins which are quite pricey.
All coins kept in bank vaults.

  • Stack's is the only one worth mentioning in the city, but it's not downtown. If anyone is aware of any other b&m's, please let us know! image

New York's alright if you wanna freeze to death.
New York's alright if you wanna get mugged or murdered.

When I walked into stacks in 2002 I got a very cold reception, no matter what I said or asked to see. I have been a customer off and on for years. I was very disappointed. A few days later I walked in with a dealer friend of mine who they knew and they pulled everything out I had asked to see, to my suprise.

I left with a sort of anger towards them, they are not my favorite dealers. They certainly will never get a consignment from me of my 50+ year collection !
