What's going on with this 1 rupee?

I have had this a while, but just now getting around to photographing it. I remember buying it because it did not quite look right and it had this mushy strike. It is uncirculated though. I bought it for Krause book value at the time. Is this a thin planchet or maybe a struck through? Any premium to speak of if that is the case?

My first thought was badly eroded dies, but I'm not so sure on giving it a second look.

I think I remember seeing an error coin struck through oil with a similar appearance. If I remember correctly, I saw it in a book on error coinage. If it was in one of my books, then I'll find it and post more details.

Your coin is most definitely struck from extremely worn dies.
