My Franksville Coin Show Report as Promised.

It was fun. My wife and I arrived about 7:20 this morning. Many of the dealers were helpful. Most of the ones I know stopped by to say hi and ask how I was doing. I did bring too much graded stuff for the type of show this was, but what the heck you have to start somewhere. There was a group of them giving me the raspberries as I left telling me now you know what we go through! It was all in fun and was a good laugh. I don't know how soon I will do the next one, but I learned a lot. I asked a couple dealers by me to critique my stuff and what I was doing. They were most helpful. I need to minimize on the stock and come up with more variety.

Fishteeth stopped by to introduce himself.

My bigest hit was the free chocolate coins we gave away. image

What makes you say you brought too much graded stuff?

I brought about 150 graded coins. Morgans, a couple early commens, some modern commems, some of my duplicate Mercs, Eagles, Red wheat cents, some variety stuff like 1960 large/small Lincoln, 1939 DDO Mercury dime, D/D and D/S Buffalos, etc. Really no interest in this stuff at this show; there were only five graded coins looked at and I couldn't even give them away too cheap, and two of those coins were looked at by other dealers for their stock. They liked the coins they just wanted them for nothing.

True in general, but See's makes some tasty ones: Link.

Was nice to meet you. Some of your mercs were amazing. Those 21's were esp nice.

This was my 3rd show in 3 weeks and the only one I didn't find anything that I wanted.

Chris, hopefully the next show you'll find something (there is a big one next month by the Milwaukee airport -- South Shore coin club puts on a three day show).
