Here is a cool medal from Portugal that commemorates the centenary of the writer and Portuguese historian Jaime Cortesao. Featured on the obverse is a scene depicting a famous Portuguese prince The Infante (prince) Henrique, Duke of Viseu in the 14th century. He was also known as Henry the Navigator and even though he really wasn't much of an explorer himself he did encourage expeditions of discovery and charting.
It is a large medal as seen by the penny that is next to it. It is bronze and I wish I had Catchman or Boz11's skill at photography because it is a truly nifty looking bronze.
