eBay pulled the auction after she ended it. It no longer exists. BTW I emailed her this morning with the following message "Nice scam/fraudulent auction!" Here was her pathetic response:
You didn't need to send such a nasty email. A simple question would have been sufficient. As a result of your questioning the authenticity of my coin, I ended the auction early, and put a post on my ebay page explaining that when someone has a concern about the validity of one of my items, I take action to remedy the situation. We have to leave for Mayo Clinic shortly, our grandson has a cyst growing out of the bone in his leg, and we are his foster parents. Right now my main concern is for his health, but I wanted you to know that everything on that auction was the absolute truth as I know it from the auction the coin was purchased from. Please check out my ebay page for more information. flygirl15
Since this person is clearly not a coin dealer it is possible that she was the person who was scammed when she bought whatever the heck that is she is selling.
<< <i>Since this person is clearly not a coin dealer it is possible that she was the person who was scammed when she bought whatever the heck that is she is selling. >>
Not hardly. The auction stated that she would not be available from 2/22 to 2/24 because she would be at the hospital. Well isn't it amazing she responded to my accusation within 15 minutes on a day she wasn't available. I bet she wouldn't be available only after someone paid and she skips out with their money. Scam artists have no consciences. She was flat out busted.

She may be the scammer, she may not. If you are only going on the "not available from 2/22 to 2/24" bit and that she replied to you on 2/22, then that is pretty weak. IF her reply is truthful, she replied prior to heading out. Now, IF she replied to you late in the day or on 2/23, then it would be a tad different. I've been out before and said I wasn't going to be around on the day I was leaving (but, I was around prior to leaving that day).
Did she say "unavailable from 12:01am on 2/22 until 11:59pm on 2/24"? If not, then you argument based solely on that really doesn't hold water.
the seller posted a pix of a fake holder with a pix of a harshly cleaned raw coin , and then posted another pix of a 1960 cameo proof -raw

It stunk so much of a scam the issue is moot >>
And, that's fine.....I am just one to not like it when people get so hopped up that anything and everything means scam to them. Something substantial, sure. Something as inane as "they responded in the morning on a day that they said they wouldn't be available"? Nah.....that means nothing in turns of "scam"

And a poor attempt at a scam. I mean anyone that collects high end Franklins would obviously know the holder is fake and you could see the coin was harshly cleaned even in the small pic.
Its always amazing to me how many folks on Ebay have folks in the Hospitalgoing to the hospital just back from the hospitalClose to deathDeadSick or some other situation that the person always throws out when something goes amiss.
Yes I am sure a couple of them were honest but frankly every time I hear this now my mind automaticly thinks BS. Yet another sign this person is just a lousy scammer.

What has me pointing the finger directly at the seller, regardless of how much or how little she knows about coins, is showing pictures of two different coins. I can't think of any legit excuse for that.
New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

That's true. You can be out with a laptop, phone, ipaq etc and answer emails on the move. My opinion is she knew she was scamming and the gig was up regardless of health issues.

save the picture then open it up in paint you can clearly see its been doctored
All the info has been cut and pasted on that grayish background also

You may be wrong there. Minnesota has the largest Asian population of
any state in the US. But, that is a good example of a poor scammer!
