1951 Bowman Duke Snider 10!!??

I just picked up a 51 Bowman Duke Snider in PRO Gem-MT condition. I do realize it may be trimmed, but it is beautiful. What is the correct size for the the 51 Bowman's? Any help is much appreciated. I will scan a picture in a few.

Thanks,

Do you have a scan of it?

Without seeing a scan...it is trimmed. It could be the size of a postage stamp and they would still grade it.

if ya got another 51 bowman card, put em together and see

My guess is that the seller probaly sent the card to PSA, and it got rejected so he sent it to PRO to get an easy 10! I would bet the card is trimmed, and it may not even be authentic. I have yet to see a PRO Graded card grade under a 9image

The 1951 Bowman card set totals 324 cards. Like the 1950 set, 1951 Bowman features color-art reproductions of actual photographs. The size of the cards was increased to 2-1/16" by 3-1/8

I have seen Pro graded cards that were not trimmed. They has some other major flaw.

I once bought a 52 Reese graded PRO 7 that had a crease right through the middle of the card.

    So they are out there.

Wow Ive done business with that seller (he has bought from me)

Since then he has spammed me with his insurance business, his cards and any other scheme
he has at the time. Now he is selling his mistakes?

  • What do you mean. i have boughten several items from this seller especially some old 78, 79, 80 wax and always was satisfied. my scanner is not working, but this card looks like it atleast an 8. Time to crack and send it. We'll see.

That card is definitly not an 8 no matter how good the scan is... You can tell from the scan that the card is trimmed left to right

If it's not trimmed it's a $40-$60 card depending what holder you can get it into

I don't know if it is trimmed BUT if it could be in a PSA slab that seller
would have done it by now. He would not sell a 3000.00 card for 200.00
unless something was wrong with it. That is what we mean.

  • I knew this before bidding so i understand. It looks genuine, but is probably trimmed. Sons bicycle??? I like this vintage card and wasn't concerned about the trimming. Maybe get it authenticated by PSA with no grade. Still a nice vintage card. Don't want to sell, but want it to be certified by a better company one way or another.

I've been drinking and asked this dude if he was Gary on another thread. He never responded. Another post with very similar typos and bad grammar. WTH is "boughten"? Scanner doesn't work? Heard that before too.

I digress and head back to the fridge to get another beer. It's Mardi Gras time here.

I'd do the next best thing and return it to the seller.

Then I'd go out and buy one not trimmed for 50.00 and get that one signed and authenticated.

200.00 is too much for that card.

    100.00 is too much

    50.00 is too much....

    Good for you.
  • I wish you luck with that card, and hope your able to get that card crossed over.

This is unreal, I can't believe Rick would sell this card...He knows darn well what he did and should be ashamed.

  • He told me it came in a collection he had purchased. i've talked with him on the phone before and he his a nice guy. I'll send it in to be graded. If it doesn't pass I am going to send it out to be autographed. It does measure out right. If it comes out a 6 I will be satisfied. Thanks for all your feedback.

    I think he meant Sniders.

As for Rick Probstein selling that card I agree he should be ashamed especially how he hyped it.

I have no problem with sellers moving that junk if they note that it is junk or at the least that it may be junk.
