Can anybody recommend a good book on Mexican coins (besides just for Pieces of Eight)? Something maybe covering Mexican coinage until relatively modern times?

    Some links in there. Check the ANA (money.org) library with a subject search. If you know Spanish then the Pardeau (sp?) numismatic history of Mexico is a good one for the older stuff.

    Standard Catalog of Mexicn Coins By Colin R Bruce II . This was published by Krause. I'm sure it's out of print now but a copy shows up now and then. Mine is copy writed 1981. This covers Mexican coinage history from day one until 1980 along with paper money, official medals, stocks and bonds. Pictures of all issues where available drawings of others. Even though pricing is out of date still worth picking up for the history.

    The Book by Dunigan on the 8R Cap and Rays is very good and I recommend it for that series
