BBCE Group Rip results

Well here they are, nothing great - but fun to open! I didn't get a randomly inserted pack, but still a very nice gesture from BBCE. Thanks again Bill for setting this up.

Of course a Rickey RC or Ripken RC would have been awesome, but I was actually hoping for a Sandberg. I love his '83 Topps RC. Growing up he was the player I tried to be like, I played 2B in little league - started at 8yrs old in 1984. The Cubs came sooooo close that year, I know - to only MAKING the WS, but they were fun to watch. Funny thing is now I know Ryne. I've worked at Harry Caray's Restaurant for over 10 yrs, Ryne and his wife Margaret have been in many times, they're friends of Dutchie (Harry's widow). Nice guy, very classy. The one plug I'll do for the restaurant: It's the annual worldwide toast to Harry tonight. It's a big media event, more than anything - but a good way to stir up business during the slowest month of the year. Draft Bud is $1.01 - yes 101 years since the Cubs last won the WS. Some people that will be attending: Ernie Banks, Dutchie Caray, Marv Levy, and I was told to expect Ryne (although as of last night he did not have a reservation - not like he needs one though).
Anyways, Ryne's '83 Topps is one of my favorite cards from my childhood.
