Strange auctions- playing games?

Take alook at these 2 auctions- one current and one that just ended a week ago, both for the exact same card-

Item # 300294757722 (Current auction)

Item # 290294451569 (ended 2/12)

I'm sorry but I don't now to enter the direct link. These 2 auctions are the same card, the first one supposedly sold, but note that the winning bid is exactly the same as the 2nd highest bid, but from a different buyer. And now the card is up for auction again? This same seller had a couple other '71 PSA 9s that had the same pattern- ended with the highest and 2nd highest bidders the same as this auction and at the same price as each other. And now those cards are also up for auction again.

This guy seems to clearly be shilling his auctions. But how can he have 2 different bidders bid the same high price? Also, I presume this is not within Ebay's rules. Any thoughts?

I'd appreciate it if someone who knows how can put in the link to the auctions.

Thanks.

  • no doubt shilling... I think they are trying to move the VCP price on this card... Last two sold for $300 and $376.... Now the average is $425 with the last one..

  • I saw this same thing last month with a 1956 Topps Billy Vessels psa 7. Card sold for 1.5X VCP and then relisted a week later by same seller. The buyer that bought it the first time had 0 feedback and was bidding on 6 other highend items from the same seller.

  • Is it worthwile to contact the seller and ask him what is going on/that we suspect shill bidding? He has some nice 71 PSA 9s that I might be itnerested in, but not if he is going to shill the prices up like this.
