Camera Review for Coin Photography - Canon A70

This is an old review that I moved to it's own webpage.
Please use this forum to discuss, make suggestions or point out errors.
Here is the overview:
The Canon A70 was trouble on the user side. All the images on the tiny lcd looked washed out with no detail. It was hard to determine if your coin was in focus or not. On the surprise side the detail once transfered to the computer was actually pretty good. The only thing that saved me is I know what kind of lighting works for my DSLR and that is what I tried on this unit. In the end the camera takes decent photos with the caveat that it's like the old film camera's and you don't know what you will get till you develop the images. The common theme was I really had to trust the autofocus and more often than not it worked out when the right setup was used.
