You can see the Rays farm system thinning a tad bit. Last year there were 4 Rays in the TOP 20 (7 in the top 100), now there are 5 in the top 100. The pitching is still solid, but there aren't too many hitters in the organization. I'm excited about Heyward and Hanson possibly making an appearance in the ATL this year, the Braves will need all the help they can get.
Edited to add: I'm happy to see Jeffress on the list, from Milwaukee, I saw him pitch a bunch last year and he's a really cool guy.
Astros & Tigers have only 1 player in the top 100.
Royals, Twins, Yankees, Diamondbacks, Angels amd Cubs have only 2 in the top 100. Angels really hurting with their highest at 63 compared to the Royals with their 2 players being no lower than 21.
Of the teams with 3 players (Pirates, Cardinals, Rockies, Indians, Mariners, Phillies, Whitesox, Met, Nationals, Padres and Reds) the Pirates and Cardinals look to have the better chances with the Pirates having 2 top 25 and 1 top 5 player.
The Giants are the only team with 2 top 10 players. The Orioles have the #1 guy in Wieters and 2 more top 20 players so they look good.
The Rangers win the most award with 6. Funny is their lowest ranked guy (73) basically was given the starting job at SS before the season even started in Elvis Andrus. They moved Michael Young to make way for him.
<< <i>Astros & Tigers have only 1 player in the top 100. >>
And he's a #1 from last year's draft!
Way to go, PooPooura!
I have watched McCutchen in Indy for the last 2 years and he isn't ready unless he really grew up this off season. I watched him get picked off 2nd base like 3 times.
go through the roof?
<< <i>Bad time to be prospecting, given the 'roid-gate that's swept through MLB. The last thing you want is dump a bunch of coin on a 20 yr. old kid right after he gets off the juice. >>
Jordan Schafer is still the Braves highest potential prospect but he served a 50 gamer last year for violation of the leagues banned substance policy. Probably why he is down to #50 this year.
