Play it Forward Giveaway (EDITED: Winner in last post!)
Ok, I received the "play it forward giveway" box today. I must say I was surprised by the goodies inside. I tried not to pick out too many and I made sure I replaced it with more than I took out! I laid out the coins in front of my 1 year old and let him have the first thing he grabbed for.... I must say that this was a bit of an unfair test since there was a slabbed coin in the lot and the rest were flips. He grabbed the NGC slabbed xf40 1882 2 Sen... so that is now his forever.. I did snatch a few coins for my wifes animal collection, she says "THANK YOU!".... I have added a nice selection of Canadian Coins and a few other things to the mix. I hope the next person enjoys the lot...
NOW...onto the rules.... since I now have the lot I am going to dictate how it is given away. I want each person that enters to post why they should receive the box next.... So... good luck and I can't WAIT to mail this off... I will be including a sign up sheet in the box for the next person to sign and send forward! I'll pick the winner next Thursday. That gives everyone a week to get signed up.
(Edited to add : I don't mind shipping this world wide if that person doesn't mind shipping worldwide when it is time to send it back to someone)

I have no such reluctance...but would prefer to have a lot of members involved. I'll list myself to get things going (partial reason for entering) but invite your participation.
This can be a fascinating giveaway that Stork has started but it takes initially, oh, 15 seconds of effort.
I can't wait to see what ASUtodd has added!
Like a pyramid scheme in reverse, this can work to everyone's benefit (provided you are reasonable and generous-heck, everyone's got something leftover but attractive) !
What treasures will lurk in the mail?
ed to add: By the way ASU, post some images of items selected to get the giveaway blood flowing!

Please, read the postings.
Stork had a great idea: participate, receive contents, subtract from contents, add to contents, post images of items kept, forward package to next participant.
It doesn't require a PHD, simply a willingness to share.

Basically what Laurentyvan said was the idea (well he added the part about pictures,
The coins I picked were pretty much in the $5-10 range (maybe a few higher and a few lower--but otherwise interesting). They were either dupes, or leftovers from my expired OFEC attempt, thus suitable to either OFECers or those otherwise interested. I did add a few Japanese (one of my core areas), but quite a few from elswhere and elsewhen. I admit the Churchill Crown is a joke. No Ajaan, no chance at it being a 65. The stork coin is a lower value one, but I felt it was appropriate to include
Anyway, the giveaway is now Todd's to decide upon--inlcuding any new rules! I do like the idea of hearing what is kept/added (now there are Canadian coins--which I certainly didn't put in there
So be happy and have fun while I'm working this Valentine's Day!!!

Now here is that same coin...
I also got some animal/insect coins for my wife's collection. This one was TOO beautiful to pass up! I DID NOT edit the colors on this one, this is what it looks like..
I also picked out the 1966 Swiss Franc (I don't know much about these coins but this looks like a specimen to me)
I'll get the rest up later along with a vague list of what I'm adding in... I want to keep some of it a secret!!!
(edited to add : that black mark on the robe is from "paintbucket" on photoshop... I just noticed it... crap...)

What kind of quality are you guys looking for in these coins? From the pics that ASUTodd posted, I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to add much to the pot.
Added: Ok, I re-read the original post from Stork, and got a better idea as to what we're looking for, nonjunk world coins of a value up to $10 or there about..... I gotcha.
