According to these figures by ESPN, the attendance for MLB for the respective years:
1. 2008 - 78,591,116;
2. 2007 - 79,503,175;
3. 2006 - 76,078,766;
4. 2005 - 74,925,821; and
5. 2004 - 73,022,969.
Does anyone have any reason to believe the figure for 2009 will be significantly different? If the game is truly tarnished, I would fully expect the 2009 figure to drop significantly. However, I suspect otherwise and wouldn't be surprised if the figure actually increased.

The economy is a big part .
The roid situation isn't going to help any , especially when the rest of this ' LIST " is revealed .
I know a huge part of me going to the stadium has been lost over the last couple of days , but not because of the economy .
