Used blocks/multiples

Anybody collect used blocks of 4? I generally collect unused, but have always had an interest in used blocks with decent centering.
At 47, I'm wondering why I'm one of the youngest people at stamp shows!!!!!

With 19th-century meterial, pairs and blocks can often command large premiums. With 1st-series revenues, blocks of 4 can often be worth more than 10x the value of 4 singles.
  • Yeah, I know. Crazy, isn't it? I saw a 407 block (7c black Washington) with a moderate cancel and very nice centering, but one stamp had a few natural creases definitely not from being handled, but I passed. I guess my expectations are too high. I'm thinking of adding some Wash/Frank blocks to the collection, but they're tough to find in nice centering and fault free.

  • I buy all the used Washington Franklin blocks I can find cheap, but yes they are hard to find without any faults.
