I met Bugs Bunny at Long Beach!
Even though I was looking for IKE's and Kennedy's, I just could not pass this one up when the dealer showed it to me! No if's and's or but's!
..

Not as high a grade as I would have preferred but so far none have been graded and attributed at MS65 anyway!

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Looking for IKE's and Kennedy'S
Stay away from the Kennedy's, they are UGLY
Buy "Baldies" instead
Looks more like Ben needs to trim his nose hair !
The Bugs Bunny Franklin is most commonly associated with the 1955 coins but the die clash has been attributed on 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954, 1954-D as well as 1956. I think someone even reported the clash on a 1959 here recently.

I collect all 20th century series except gold including those series that ended there.
<< <i>is this error only on the 1951 ? >>
No there are quite a few dates with this error, some more common that others. The 1955 is the most common. Here are all the dates I know of.
1949
1951
1952
1953
1954
1954-D
1954-S
1955
1956
1959
1963
Did I leave any out? It may be a couple more.

FS = Fivaz-Stanton
I don;t understand their numbering system though since an FS-401 on an IKE is a Peg Leg.

It would have made more sense to use FS-401 for the Talon Head on Ikes.

<< <i>No. This is the result of a die clash which transferred the impression of the Eagle's right wing feathers ontp the reverse to the obvrse of the coin.

This would be a fun die clash set to collect. I once tried to do the same thing with Indian Half and Quarter eagles but gave up when I ran out of funds.

I collect Franklin varieties and I'm trying to get all the known dates for the Bugs Bunny. Someone did post a 1959 Bugs on here recently, I'll see if I can find the thread.

Did they always put the designation on the slab?
Are there "Bugs Bunny" coins out there in a pcgs slab without the designation?

I checked both of my 55 FBL's that I have and they both have that feature.
PURPLE!
It is a "named" die clash very similar to the "Talon Head" die clashed Eisenhower dollar.
Except more widely accepted and more popular. The end result is that it gets put into the Cherry Pickers Guide and ultimately attributed by PCGS. Hopefully, someday, the Talon Head will get in there.

<< <i>Here's a raw '51 BB I have. The clash is really strong on this one. You can see a clash mark behind Franklin's head as well.
That one should be label the "Sinus Infection Franky"!
