Anyone noticed how shiny the 2009 maple leaves look?

I'm used to a field with strong die polish lines and a highly polished device.
Just got a roll of 2009 bullion maple leaves from Apmex delivered today.
This year, i'm seeing faint lines in the field; the whole coin looks rather polished. The fields are much more reflective this year.
Bland.
It is just my imagination?
I don't think so. I'm holding a 2008 bullion maple right next to a 2009 bullion maple. The 2009 is shiny and bland in comparison.
Did I get a bad batch, then?
Perhaps they are altering the look? I know that the American Silver Eagles started out with a relatively shiny surface and are much more matte now in the current years; it is an intentional change.
[edit] Title used to say "flat". But what I really mean is "shiny". There is a lack of contract between the fields and devices; everything is shiny and polished. Usually the field looks like someone went over it with a wire brush!
