I'm gonna send some 33 goudeys, and a few cards from 51-53.

I just check usps for my sub I sent last week and got this:

    Status: Notice Left

We attempted to deliver your item at 11:09 AM on February 2, 2009 in NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92658 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

Does PSA have a modern special like in January? I did not see one just checking

I got the same message when I checked mine, 11:09 AM also. Maybe their PO box was full and they only took so many packages back to PSA and the postal employee wrote out all the notice slips at once (hence the same 11:09) for what was not taken. Who knows, maybe they only make one trip to the post office a day. Hopefully they pick the rest up today.
  • That is exactly what my tracking info shows as well.

PSA picks up all available packages when we go to the post office and I think all packages scan this way when they come in.
The post office is not diligent in always updating the tracking information. There have been numerous times when a customer calls in asking why we didn't pick up the package and when looking up the information we find that the order has been entered.

If it has been a few business days and it doesn't show picked up call customer service. Please have the submission number and tracking number handy. Even if the package hasn't been opened yet we can let you know if it is in the vault waiting to be processed.

I print my postage and insure my package through stamps.com, so the tracking number issued to my package from stamps.com (while helpful to me on the USPS site) may not help PSA's customer service department (if it eventually comes to that).

USPS uses what are called "firm sheets" for companies like PSA that get a lot of packages. The tracking numbers of many parcels are all listed on the one delivery sheet, and when they are delivered to PSA or picked up by PSA the firm sheet is scanned. When the firm sheet is scanned, all packages on the sheet are scanned as attempted, delivered, etc all at the same time. The carrier or clerk only has to do one scan and it applies to all parcels on that sheet.

That's why all of you are seeing the same attempted time.

Also the scanners are normally with the carriers and clerks until the end of the day, then mounted on the rack. As soon as I hang my scanner I can hear the modem dialing to send the scan information to USPS. We do not have live tracking or live updates, updates are usually in the evening.

Mine still says - Status: Notice Left - We attempted to deliver your item at 11:09 AM on February 2, 2009 in NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92658 and a notice was left..........

How can a notice be left Monday morning, and by Tuesday night it hasn't been picked up yet?

Mine showed delivered, not logged in @ PSA yet. Must have gotten hammered at the last minute.
  • Mine also now shows that it was delivered at 8:03 this morning, but it didn't get logged in today.
