Encased Coins, looking for information

I am looking for some information on encased coins. Can anyone direct me to reference material or an individual who specializes in this area. Attached is an ebay lot that recently closed. it's an encased Barber dime in very nice condition a is the encasment piece. My curiosity is peaked and I want to learn more. I'm really not sure what forum is appropriate to list this question, so I will try it here and in the US section. Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you
Mike

Encased Barber Dime which recently sold on ebay. Very interesting!

Additionally. Anybody out there have interest in key date 20th century Mexican Type coins? I'd like to meet and converse with folks who share a common interest in this field. It's under appreciated in my opinion. Thoughts?

I would think that encased dimes are fairly rare, the usual encased coin is a penny.

I still have the encased penny that my grandfather gave me 40+ years ago. I also once had an encased Swiss 1 rappen from Tell City Indiana but I gave that to a member here who was from Tell City.
