Question about the 1986 Fleer Basketball Set PSA Graded...

I am not a modern card collector but I have a question. I have seen on Ebay that there has been a couple PSA complete graded sets all in PSA 8. I really have no clue what is a good price for this. I am wanting to get this for a gift for a family member that does collect modern. If you can give me a price range, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

I've dealt in '86 Fleers, I would say without the stickers set, around $1200 for a straight all PSA 8 set.

I'm figuring the Jordan at $400, 120 or so mostly commons at $5 each, that's another $600, then maybe $200 for the last 12 key rookie cards= $1200 . I would guess around $150-175 for the stickers set.

yeah somewhere in around 1300-1400, depends on the jordan, if its a nice centered 8 more toward 1400. getting a jordan in psa 8 for 400 is low, i haven't found one yet. i think the jordan have gone up a little so the sety is up in all psa 8.

good luck with it, i hope to finish mine this year with the purchasing of a jordan.

You guys are low on your pricing. I just put a complete set together in PSA 9 including the stickers. The Jordan in PSA 8 is going to cost you $700-$750ish right now. Your going to pay somewhere around $2000 for a complete set including stickers in PSA 8 grades. For reference I built mine for just a little under $3500. Market on the PSA 9 set is about $4000. Good Luck on the acquisition.

A complete PSA 8 Set set on the bay had a final bid of $1275.

Did not meet reserve, but the BIN was $1,700 with no takers. I have seen them sell off and on for $1,200 - $1,400. I'm in the market for a PSA 8 set for around that or a PSA 9 set minus the Jordan for around $2,500 so I keep a close eye on these.

The bad thing is if you piece it together yourself, you're going to pay a 10-25% premium over just buying the whole thing at once. It's a really sad situation for set builders that right now, there is no reward. Spend countless hours piecing together a set only to see it sell for a substantial loss. It's even a worse proposition if you're sending in raw to get graded unless you hit a low pop 10 or a star rookie comes back 9+.

I stand corrected. Thats a great deal considering the Jordan sells for $700-$750 if you can pick up the entire set for $1275.

Ignore everything that I have said, I am clearly clueless! I guess I have been living in the 1986 Basketball PSA 9 world to long. image
