Dime sized medals struck at the Philadelphia mint beginning in 1861 although some had been produced as early as 1833 or 1834. (according to Julian) Engraver, Pauquet's dies have survived to the presenrt. I find myself enjoying a (cheap) piece of History.

I just sold off a silver Lincoln death version.

The $10-ish price range is for 20th century restrikes, such as shown in the initial post. Original 19th century bronze versions are actually somewhat rarer than the silver versions. It's possible to pick up both silver and bronze originals for $20-$30 if you hit things right, but the mentioned $150 price seems to be more typical recently.
