PCGS Grading Times Taking Longer?

For weeks I've been reading the board and the consensus is that submissions to PCGS are down and therefore grading turnaround times lately have been pretty fast.

Well, I submitted some moderns at the FUN show using regular 15 day service and so far no grades. The website shows the order was checked in on the 14th, so today would be the 15th day, but so far nothing.

Now, I realize that the 15 days is just an estimate, but I was assuming with submissions being down overall they would at least have it done by the high end of the range. Especially since they are just moderns.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Ah, but it doesn't actually say business days. Now, as reasonable folks we could infer that, but that's not made clear anywhere unless I should have gotten out my magnifying glass and read the fine print.

Still, when you pay $30/coin for regular service you'd like to get it turnaround faster than some here have submitting economy. Meaning it's not the 15 days that has me hung up, but rather that some got theirs faster and paid for a cheaper level of service.

But, I know I'm probably being irrational about this and should just shut up, so I will.

Have you factored in transit time from FUN to PCGS?
If they had a lot of them, they likely had to ship from there....registered....to themselves. Could have added 5-10 days transit time.

At the end of last year, turnaround times were very quick, but since then, the holidays, FUN, and I suspect an increase in submissions have slowed them down to more normal levels.

And your 15 days doesn't start till the day after they enter them into the system.

Grades around February 5th.

My last 20 coins took 3 weeks. I paid economy $18 each. I think not so bad.
