2008d 1.00 Van Buren rolls
Have never purchased from USM.
The mint sells Van Buren rolls for about $38.00 but I can get them at local bank for
$25.00. Is the extra ten bucks for s & h.?

Some years of the Sac dollars have pretty good resale prices compared with the original mint price.
It's hard to imagine that happening with the presidential dollars within our generation.
Shipping is $4.95 additional.
The extra $13 is for the special paper that they wrap the rolls in.
It's complete BS I think. Don't buy into it. Get the rolls from your bank for face value.

If you'd rather you can purchase the rolls using the Circulating $1 Direct Ship rolls option. However, while you don't pay $4.95 shipping, the wrapper doesn't indicate which mint the rolls come from, and you must purchase a minimum $250.
So it seems to me the premium is for the guarantee of mint-mark on each roll. Or else buy $250 worth and you have to open up the individual rolls to determine the mint mark.
If you want the rolls intact then pay the premium. If you want uncirculated individual coins the buty them from the Circulating $1 Direct Ship option.
