i suspect this must be a fake. this medal was also known as the blue max. the blue max was the highest award given by the prussian/german military. still an interesting find either way.

I admit to my ignorance about such things, but what makes you suspect it must be a fake? To me, and all I have is a picture, it sure looks like the real deal!! Do you have anyone local that is knowledgable enough to verify it's authenticity? Either way, it's sure a neat find as are the other items! -Mary
