Who can spot the problem with this "original" 1952 Dodgers Puzzle

You have to look at the pictures very closely, but can you spot why this puzzle is not an original puzzle from 1952 like he says it is?

<< <i>One reason is that they also have a 1954 team puzzle listed on the box. Another is that there is a zip code on the company address, they didn't begin until 1963. >>
Wow! great observation, I did not know that about zip codes.
<< <i>A quick added note, I just got off the phone with the Baseball hall of Fame Museum and the Brooklyn museum neither one of them have this item, not did they know of any of these still existed and are also very interested in this item.. >>

In any event, it was probably made in China, which means they made a million of them, and thus they're worthless.
classic...
The response:
Hi there I just had my parents take this piece to a memorbila appraiser, they told them its value would be any where from 800.00 to 1500.00 And yes i do know that the side states that but no where on this box is there another date, mind you I am not a pro and I have to go but what the people I bought it off from and what I did speak with the Baseball hall of fame curator, and the President of the Brooklyn Museum for Brooklyn history, as I stated in the write up both did want this peice and stated they didnt know any more were even out there. and neither one has this. They recommended that i go to an antique autioner house and have them sell it, but i said nah.. to mush trouble put it on ebay and see what happens i guess thanks Dee
Authorized wholesale dealer for BCW, if you need any supplies let me know and I will get you a quote
It sure as hell ain't from 1952 and it ain't worth 500.00 dollars either.

I'm thinking the piece dates to around 1978. They created a lot of HOF sets and then in the 80's started doing minor leaguers.
Many of their sets can be found today, That puzzle IMO is a 20.00 Item if that
Dee is FOS.

Also note how she said there are scans of all four sides of the box. I thought boxes had six sides. I would like to see what is on the two missing sides. Maybe a 1980 copyright date?

Hi, I really don't feel right buying this puzzle for under $1500 as I've only seen a few of them in my life. Your puzzle belongs on display where fans can see it. If you would like, I can call my uncle who is very good friends with the MLB HOF and I'm sure they would give your original asking price and gladly display it. If I were you, I would donate it and your name will be on display as well.
Regards,
brian

I have a 1952 unopened still in plastic wrapper as well, Brooklyn Dodgers black and white team photo puzzle. I dont know how many were made but googling it there are none for sale. This is for the serious collector. It lists the players (including Gil Hodges, Jackie Robinson, Pee Wee Reese, Billy Cox, etc.), the coaches and a team history on the sides of the box. It's their World Series photo. Email me if interested. Thanks, Dee.

They ran it on ebay and it ended Jan 17th. $2000 was too much I guess.
So.....they will sell $10 shirts but dont want to mess with selling this to the HOF. lol yeah right.
<< <i>The puzzle was made by TCMA, does anyone know when they started making stuff? Not until the 70's right? >>
They made minor league and reprints 1st in 1972 (from my quick searches)
edited to add- so the HOF would want a unlicensed puzzle. ? yeah.
<< <i>Dear brian,
Hi there, thanks for your thoughts everybody and everyone has there comments I have had offers from Cali. to florida and yet no one actually bids if you want this take it its cheap enough right now.. thanks Dee >>

OOPS-I see that someone has already posted this. I found one on a recent Hall's auction with a minimum bid of $20, but I do not know what it sold for.

Strangely enough, in December 2008, after learning of Shlabotnik's career stats including a .220 BA; 16 RBI in 1,322 games played and NO extra base hits in a 17 year major league career, Brian Cashman offered the deceased Shlabotnik a two year deal as a backup to Robinson Cano at $2.1 million per year.

i learned a long time ago to never let the truth get in the way of a good story
ended the auction.
Not that an original 1952 Puzzle would have been worth the moon money she was asking for anyway.
She and he hubby decided to go ice fishing instead of fishing on ebay.
