most rings in this decade

I'm not a sports stat geek, so I'm asking those who are for help.
Combining the 4 major sports in the U.S. (baseball, football, basketball, hockey),
which city has won the most chapionships in the last decade. I think I know the answer,
but would love to see the results. Thanks

Anyone should be able to do the math. So are we limiting the answer to CITY as specified in the OP, or metropolitan or geographical area? For example, the NE Patriots don't play in Boston. That matters

Are you counting the Angels in with the 3 Lakers titles and showing LA as 4? IF so, please keep the Angels separate as they really aren't in Los Angeles city or county. image

to conclude the argument, one must accept a single definition of decade:

    dec⋅ade
/ˈdɛkeɪd; Brit. also dəˈkeɪd/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [dek-eyd; Brit. also duh-keyd] Show IPA Pronunciation
    –noun
    1. a period of ten years: the three decades from 1776 to 1806.
    2. a period of ten years beginning with a year whose last digit is zero: the decade of the 1980s.

So which is it? Definition 1 or definition 2?

right, there could be a couple of different answers to the question depending on definitions used.
  • Thanks for the answers, I guess I wasn't clear enough about the geographical areas, or the time frame. sorry.

It's all good Doug...I just didn't want Los Angeles to be bunched with what they do in Anaheim. I know it might sound petty, but Anaheim is a separate city and had a couple of good teams at one time. lol

Yes they are in Anaheim which is a totally different city that is east of Los Angeles. The Angels new owner felt they are an Los Angeles based team and wants a piece of the same marketing and they started going after the Dodgers in their ads last year...I guess that's ok, but I think they should have stayed the California Angels.

What I'd be interested to know is which cities have the most rings each decade (50's, 60's, 70's etc)?

Unfortunately for Boston, the only team really contributing outside of the 2000's is the Celtics.
